VIDA – Value-added Innovation in fooD chAins aims to drive Europe’s global competitiveness and economic development by bringing together a food-energy-water nexus in food chains through VIDA Voucher Scheme. Food production and processing crucially depend on energy and water, which provide the necessary inputs, as well as Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) to process raw materials into marketable products. VIDA’s main objective is to support optimisation and resource efficiency in food value chains through innovation.
As VIDA approaches the final stage of implementation, the project partners are organising an online Final Event on 18 and 19 May 2021 to stress how VIDA has contributed to development of new and sustainable food value chains with the support of different European actors. Until now, VIDA has supported 115 SMEs and ten international collaborations. The project has already granted over EUR 3.3 million for the development of 62 innovative solutions through three voucher schemes – Innovation Support Voucher (ISV), Validation Voucher (VV) and Demonstration Voucher (DV).
The event will be organised to present highly innovative cross-sectoral projects. VIDA Final Event aims to pitch VIDA beneficiary projects that are working on addressing VIDA Challenges. There will also be presentations, matchmaking, round table discussions and pitches oriented towards commercialisation of new products, technologies and services.
VIDA will keep you informed as soon as the event details are finalised.
