Title
Optimization of recyclable nanofibrous system for organic substances sorption in food processing plants – feasibility study
Duration
3 December 2019 / 3 June 2020
VIDA Challenges
Resource-efficient food processing
Summary
The main goal of the project is to propose the concept of developing an innovative sorbent system based on nanofibers for the capture and disposal of organic substances (oils, fats, petroleum substances, etc.) as well as the separation of oil and water phases in food processing plants. The design represents a completely new technology based on the unique physic-chemical properties of nanofibers. The structure we will develop should have significantly higher performance and more than twice the absorbency compared to the best sorbent materials on the market. Another benefit is that the developed material will be more environmentally friendly due to the possibility of multiple reuses. In addition, its capacity to recycle will dramatically reduce costs. The supplier of laboratory tests for this project is SINDAT from Prague. SINDAT has all the necessary qualifications, competence, equipment and personnel to provide all the services for this innovative voucher. Sintex proposes a method of attaching the sorbent layer material to the carrier textile layer.
